IND vs BAN: India Handed Fine For Slow Over Rate In Bangladesh ODI

Indian Cricket Team suffered a massive defeat against Bangladesh in the 1st ODI. The Bangladeshi bowlers were spot-on with their line and length as they didn’t give any freebies. The skipper Litton Das was marshaling his troops and made smart field placings.

The likes of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and Virat Kohli had a rare off day as the trio is expected to lay the foundation for the rest of the batters. Skipper Rohit Sharma would be dejected as getting bundled out for 186 runs is quite embarrassing in modern cricket.

Indian Cricket Team fined

Indian Cricket Team has been fined 80% of the match fees for slow over rate as the team fell short of 4 overs according to the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees Ranjan Madugalle. According to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, players are fined 20 percent of their match fees for every over fallen short.

Skipper Rohit Sharma accepted the offense as the on-field umpires Michael Gough and Tanvir Ahmed, third umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid and fourth umpire Gazi Sohel leveled the charge.

Tough Loss for India

The Men in Blue from nowhere restricted Bangladesh from 128-4 to 136-9. The bowlers bowled their hearts out but they weren’t able to wrap up the match. Mehidy Hasan played the knock of his life as he scored 38 runs in 39 balls and took the team over the finish line.

The skipper Rohit Sharma’s tactics were quite questionable as he wasn’t looking to attack. Head Coach Rahul Dravid will have to pull a rabbit out of the hat as Bangladesh has got a lot of match winners present in the team. The Men its in Blue has got a strenuous task on its hands as Bangladesh would be aiming to wrap up the series on Wednesday (07th December).
