Mohammed Shami had sustained a shoulder injury during a training session in the lead-up to the three-match ODI series and got ruled out of the series. The BCCI selection committee named Umran Malik as Shami’s replacement in the ODI team.

Meanwhile, Cricbuzz reported that Shami has not fully recovered from the right shoulder strain and currently there is no clear information on his comeback.

Reportedly, there is no immediate plan to rush in a replacement for Shami for the Test series as more than 30 Indian players are in Bangladesh and anyone can be included in the Test squad if needed.

India National Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma has arrived in Mumbai for scans following a thumb injury he sustained during the second ODI against Bangladesh National Cricket Team at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday, December 7, and a decision on his participation in the Test series will be taken in the next 24 hours, according to the same report.

Notably, Rohit Sharma sustained a thumb injury while fielding in the slip cordon in the second game. The 35-year-old was fielding at second slip when Mohammed Siraj drew an outside edge from Anamul Haque. The ball went towards Rohit Sharma, but he could not hold on as the ball dipped and in the process, he ended up hurting his thumb.

He came out to bat with an injured thumb at No.9 after the dismissal of Shardul Thakur in the 43rd over and played an absolutely sensational knock of 51* runs, however, his valiant effort went in vain as India lost the match by 5 runs.
