Indian Cricket Team is all set to lock horns against Bangladesh for the 1st Test Match on 14th December (Wednesday). The Men in Blue would be hoping that they can continue the momentum of the 3rd ODI into Test Arena. The selection panel has included Jaydev Unadkat as a replacement for Mohammed Shami and it would be interesting to see whether he gets a game or not.
This Test Series is quite vital for India as they have to register resounding victories to stake a claim in ICC World Test Championship (WTC 2021-23) final as India is placed in 4th position with 52.08 %. Bangladesh on the other side is out of the race of WTC and would be keen to spoil the party of India.
Wasim Jaffer On Jaydev Unadkat
Wasim Jaffer was seen having an interaction with ESPNcricinfo and was asked about Jaydev Unadkat. “I am really happy for him. He has worked tirelessly. He is the captain of Saurashtra for the last 3-4 years and has been very successful and won the Ranji Trophy and recently won Vijay Hazare Trophy and he has been a premiere bowler.” said Wasim Jaffer.
“There’s nobody to support him from other end as somehow Saurashtra finds a way to win. He and Pujara are very important players in the team. He has worked tirelessly and since he made his debut way back in 2010. Every season he has come and take 40-50 wickets and putting Saurashtra on the top teams.” he added.
Stern Test for India
The Men in Blue would be well aware of the fact that they cannot take Bangladesh lightly as we all witnessed how Bangladesh won the ODI Series. The management has a strenuous task as there is uncertainty regarding Rohit Sharma’s participation in the Test Series.
India would be banking on Virat Kohli to lead the batting line up. The right handed batter has rediscovered his mojo and is looking more threatening than ever. Head Coach Rahul Dravid will have to be spot on with their selection as the pitch is expected to be a turner.
