IND vs BAN: "Very Happy, To Win In My First Series As Captain"- Litton Das After Winning The 2nd ODI Match Against India

Bangladesh Cricket Team had won the toss and opted to bat first in the 2nd ODI. The Bangladeshi Tigers were in a precarious position at 69-6, yet the team posted a formidable target of 272 for the Men in Blue. The duo Mahmudullah & Mehidy showed a lot of character as the pitch was bowling-friendly.

In response to the 272 target, the Men in Blue got off to a shaky start as they lost 3 wickets in the power-play overs for 39 runs. Bangladeshi bowlers bowled immaculate lines and length and made Indian batters work hard for every run.  Shreyas Iyer was looking ominous as the right-handed batter scored 82 runs in 102 balls where he smashed 6 fours and 3 sixes.

Axar Patel, the all-rounder formed 107 run partnership with Shreyas. Axar scored 56 runs in 56 balls where he smashed 2 fours and 3 sixes. The duo was looking all set to take the team over the finish line. But a flurry of wickets made the equation tough for Men in Blue.

Skipper Rohit Sharma came into bat at No,9 position as he showed great courage as he batted with an injured hand. The batter smashed a half-century but that wasn’t enough as Bangladesh won the match by a mere 5 runs. Skipper Litton Das would be delighted after winning the ODI Series in his maiden stint as he rotated the bowlers smartly.

During post match presentation, Litton Das was asked about the match. “Very happy, to win in my first series as captain, it feels good. We felt that 240-250 was a good score. We were under pressure but they (Mahmudullah and Mehidy) were brilliant. Don’t know what their conversations were, but what they did was simply superb.” said Litton Das.

I wanted to rotate my bowlers- Litton Das

“I wanted to rotate my main bowlers around because it was a good pitch in the second half, so I couldn’t afford to bowl too many of my main bowlers early on. The focus for the next game will also be about winning.” he added.
