Reetinder Sodhi lauded Virat Kohli for his role in the heroic partnership with Ishan Kishan as well as for registering his 72nd international hundred in the third ODI match against Bangladesh on Saturday.
The first two ODIs Kohli played were losses, but in Chattogram, the former Indian skipper scored an ODI hundred for the first time in more than three years. He attained the goal, and the satisfaction on his face said all about how mentally sound he is right now.

After the game, Sodhi told India News that Virat Kohli’s outstanding 82* against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup was a major factor in his rediscovering his form.
“I believe Virat Kohli’s remarkable knock against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup helped him regain form. A powerful player like Kohli only needs one game to get back into his rhythm. Virat getting runs is critical in the context of the ODI World Cup because his impact can be devastating to the opposition.”

“Virat Kohli kept on talking to the youngster”: Reetinder Sodhi
Reetinder Sodhi also commended Kohli for serving as the perfect counterbalance to an aggressive Ishan Kishan in the third ODI. In a fit of rage, the young southpaw frequently makes a hasty play and is penalized.
However, Virat Kohli consistently talked with him to not try for the glory shot and to play his natural game when he was near to reaching his maiden century and then his double century.
“We praised Ishan for his incredible knock, but the credit should also be given to Kohli as he kept on talking to the youngster and calmed him down in his nervous 90s.”
Kohli has surpassed Ricky Ponting’s 71 international centuries and now trails only the great Sachin Tendulkar’s 100 international centuries.
