Bangladesh Cricket Team is high on confidence at the moment after winning the 2nd consecutive ODI series against India, seven years apart. The Bangladeshi Tigers have been quite ruthless as they have shown a never to say die attitude. Skipper Litton Das was quite instrumental in captaincy as he rotated the bowlers smartly.

India on the other side would be dejected as they weren’t quite competitive enough. Skipper Rohit Sharma showed great courage as smashing a half-century with an injured hand was never easy. It won’t be wrong to say that it looked as if the Men in Blue were not ready for the challenge.

Shane McDermott On 3rd ODI

Bangladesh Fielding Coach Shane McDermott was seen interacting with the reporters and was asked about the upcoming 3rd ODI.

“We have a much better chance with him (Rohit) not playing. He is such a high-caliber player. I was a bit surprised that he didn’t come to bat earlier (in the second game). He maybe fell a ball short. The job is never done. We don’t take international matches lightly,” said Shane McDermott.

“This team has never beaten India 3-0, that’s a massive goal for us. When we don’t win 3-0, we really pride ourselves on being hard to beat. We have come close against Pakistan in New Zealand.

“We came close to potentially making it to the T20 World Cup semifinals. We have been competitive and we are in pressure moments more often than not. I know that after the series win, the boys have one eye on one more win in this ODI series,” he added.

Shane McDermott On Top Order Batting

Shane McDermott was asked about the top order of Bangladesh. “It has been a common concern for us [top-order batting]. It will be a better wicket here, with more value for shots. It would have a bit more consistent bounce. “From a batting point of view it is to have one of our top five batters around till the 40th over, to take the game as deep as we can,” said McDermott.

“Guys are getting through that tough patch of the first 20 balls, the hardest time to bat. It is the next step now to take that 20 balls to 50-100 balls and those match-winning innings and someone from the top five doing it,” he added.
