With one T20I remaining in the series, Team India clinched an overwhelming series triumph over England, defeating the hosts by 49 runs at Edgbaston to take a 2-0 lead on Saturday.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan praised the visitors’ merciless approach with both bat and ball, saying they denied the hosts any chance of winning.

For a long time, Vaughan was outspoken about how India didn’t make the most of their skills in the shortest format due to their safe attitude, which was undoubtedly also evident in their disastrous 2021 T20 World Cup campaign.

India Has Got Something Going At The Right Time For Them: Michael Vaughan

However, after the game, Michael Vaughan told Cricbuzz that the Men in Blue had probably understood their faults and were making changes to their strategy at the correct time.

He feels they will be one of the favourites for the T20 World Cup if they continue to play their aggressive style of cricket, and he asserted:

“I have just been hammering them (laughs) that they are not playing aggressively enough. But they have got the combination right. If they can commit themselves to this process of playing aggressive cricket, they have certainly got the ingredients to produce an incredible ‘T20 World Cupcake.'”

“They got to 170 from 100/5 (89/5), Jadeja deserves a lot of credit. It’s the first time I am seeing India thinking that if they can carry on with this mindset, aggression and skill-set with the ball in hand, and when you think what KL Rahul can add to this team along with 1-2 players who can hit it a long way, the World Cup is right around the corner and they’ve got something going on at the right time”, Vaughan further added.

India would look to win the last game to complete a clean sweep.
