ENG vs IND: No Doubt He's One Of The Best And We Look Forward To The Challenge Again - Jos Buttler On Jasprit Bumrah
England captain Jos Buttler said that his team is looking forward to the challenges of going up against Jasprit Bumrah, who he believes is one of the best in the business at the moment.
Bumrah rattled the English top order with a great display of seam and swing bowling. He picked up career-best figures of 6/19, helping India restrict England to 110. The Indian openers then chased it down without losing a wicket.
At the press conference, a reporter asked: “Nasser Hussain in the commentary said is there any better bowler than Bumrah in all formats? What is your take on that?”
In response, Buttler said: “There’s no doubt that he’s a fantastic bowler. He’s been one of the leading bowlers in the world for a number of years now. And it looks like he’s going from strength to strength. That’s the great challenge of playing against India, you get to face these fantastic bowlers and batsmen.”
“That’s why you want to play international cricket to challenge yourself against the best. No doubt he’s one of the best and we look forward to the challenge again on Thursday to try and get the better of him.”
Unsatisfied with the response, the reporter asked his question once again, claiming that Buttler dodged the question. He said: “But you still didn’t answer my question, is he the best or he’s one of the best?”
A visibly irritated Buttler retorted with a two-word reply: “You decide!” and he moved forward with the press conference.
