Indian skipper Rohit Sharma attained a monumental record in One-Day International cricket during the first match against England on Tuesday.
India thumped Jos Butter and his men by 10 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Thanks to the domineering show from Jasprit Bumrah & co against a formidable England batting line-up.
Jasprit Bumrah rattled England in first ODI as India take 1-0 lead
Bumrah reaped benefits from the bounce and swinging conditions at The Oval to torment England batters. The Indian pacer got the likes of Jason Roy, Jonny Barston, Joe Root and Liam Livingstone to record career-best figures of 6/19 in the 50-over format.

Only Stuart Binny (6/4) against Bangladesh in 2014 and Anil Kumble (6/12) against West Indies in 1993 have better numbers than Bumrah in the ODIs.
Bumrah’s bowling partner Mohammed Shami (3/31) supported him from the other end as he got rid of England skipper Jos Butter, the only batter who seemed confident playing the Indian bowlers.
England were bundled up for 110 in 25.2 overs, their lowest total in ODIs against India in the history of cricket.
Rohit Sharma achieves massive feat in ODI cricket
Indian openers Rohit (76*) and Shikhar Dhawan (31*) chased down the paltry total in 18.4 overs with the pair posting an unbeaten partnership of 114. Rohit, who was going through a lean patch with the willow, smashed six fours and five sixes in his 55-ball 76 at a strike rate of 131.03.

The Indian skipper became the first player from the country to hit 250 sixes in ODIs. MS Dhoni (229) is the only other Indian player to smash more than 200 sixes in the format.
Rohit is fourth on the list of most sixes in the 50-over format with former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi leading the charts with 351 sixes. West Indies swashbuckling batter Chris Gayle (331) and Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya (270) are the only players ahead of Rohit in hitting more maximums in the format.
The second ODI between England and India will be held on Thursday (July 14) at Lord’s.
