ENG vs IND: Watch - Matthew Potts Ends Virat Kohli's Nervy Stay In 5th Test
England pace Matthew Potts got the better of Indian batter, Virat Kohli, during Day 1 of the fifth Test between the two sides in Edgbaston on Friday.
After losing the toss, India batted first and got off to a quick-paced start with Shubman Gill smashing boundaries at will. Unfortunately, his dismissal cut off the flow of runs and India struggled.
Cheteshwar Pujara and Hanuma Vihari couldn’t hang around on either side of the rain break as England got on top. The big wicket of Kohli was then snared by Potts, who had dismissed Kane Williamson thrice during their series against the Kiwis last month.
Kohli had plenty of nervous moments at the crease and his knock came to an end when he was indecisive about leaving or playing at a length ball. The delivery caught the inside edge and crashed into the stumps, reducing India to 71/4 in the 25th over.
