Bhuvneshwar Kumar has found his old rhythm back with the new ball. India benefitted immensely in the first T20I when he got the all-important wicket of Jos Buttler.

On Saturday, in the 2nd T20I, he performed even better as he removed both England openers. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has a great record against both Jos Buttler and Jason Roy and he ensured that he got the better of two English openers again.

India batting first scored 170 on the back of 46 not out from Ravindra Jadeja. They got a good start as Rishabh Pant and Rohit Sharma started brilliantly but then lost their way in the middle as Richard Gleeson got three quick wickets. Chris Jordon continued his good run in the series as he got the wickets of Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav. But despite losing wickets in the middle, India posted a decent total.

India needed quick wickets at the start and Bhuvneshwar Kumar provided India just that.

Bhubaneswar for his performance was adjudicated the player of the match, “When the ball swings you enjoy bowling. But if I am not wrong it has not swung much in England in the past few years. Good for me that the white ball swung more than the red ball. He (Buttler) is a dangerous player and if he goes past the powerplay, he can score big.

If the ball swings it motivates you to do well and I am confident right now. I do not want to answer it and if I am playing then something is right (when asked if he’s fit and free of all injuries).

Kumar would hope to continue his good form on Sunday.
