Veteran Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was on strike against England in the second T20I, dismissing three batsmen.
He also won the Player of the Match award for his heroics with the ball. In the second T20I, Bhuvi did strike again in the first over of the game, setting a significant bowling milestone in T20I cricket.
Senior Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar caused a lot of problems for the English batsmen from the outset for the second straight game by striking again in the opening over of the game to keep England under trouble. In the shortest format of the game, the hosts are largely reliant on their top-order batsmen, and Bhuvi hit in the first over itself for the second straight match to put them under strain and give India a strong start.
He dismissed England’s new limited-overs skipper and dangerous batsman, Jos Buttler, in the first game for a golden duck, and on Saturday, July 9, it was Jason Roy’s turn in the second game at Edgbaston.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the star for India in the second T20I:
The opening ball of England’s innings in the 171-run chase saw the 31-year-old sent back to the bench. Roy’s dismissal marked the right-arm medium pacer’s 14th successful first-over wicket in T20I cricket. And with that, he surpassed England’s all-rounder David Willey, who was in play on Saturday, to take the top spot among Test-playing nations for most wickets taken in the opening over of a match.
With 14 hits under his belt, he tops the chart, and Willey, who has so far dismissed 13 batsmen in the first over, is second. Bhuvi is second on the all-time list behind Oman’s Bilal Khan, who has the most wickets with 16.
Alongside Roy, he also managed to dismiss Richard Gleeson and Buttler for valuable wickets. He also pushed off Jasprit Bumrah to become India’s second-highest wicket scorer in the game’s shortest format with his triple blows.
