During his stunning batting performance in the first ODI against England, Rohit Sharma smashed the 250th six of his ODI career. He reached the 250 sixes milestone in 231 ODIs and 224 innings.

Rohit Sharma became the first batter from the India National Cricket Team to achieve this enormous landmark. The closest Indian to Rohit in the list of most sixes in ODI cricket is legendary India captain MS Dhoni, who smashed 229 sixes in his career.

Also, Rohit became only the 4th batter in the history of ODI cricket to reach the 250 sixes milestone after Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi (351), West Indies’ Chris Gayle (331), and Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya (270).

Among active international cricketers Rohit Sharma has the most number of sixes and New Zealand opener Martin Guptill, who has 184 sixes in ODI cricket, is the closest to India National Cricket Team captain.

Here’s the list of players with the highest number of sixes to their name in ODIs:

Shahid Afridi (Pakistan) – 351

Chris Gayle (West Indies) – 331

Sanath Jayasuriya (Sri Lanka) – 270
