Aakash Chopra, a former Indian batsman, praised Sanju Samson for making the most of his team’s limited chances after he scored a stunning 42-ball 77 alongside Deepak Hooda to defeat Ireland in the second T20I.

When Sanju Samson, the wicket-keeper batsman for Team India, was selected for the starting Xi for the 2nd T20 International against Ireland after missing the South Africa series, he made the most out of the fantastic opportunity.

With a large fan base in Dublin, Samson took the position of the injured Ruturaj Gaikwad at the top. Samson decided to not only please his fans there but also to amaze everyone else, which enabled his team to post a massive 225-run  total.
Samson first spent his time as Deepak Hooda charged in hard at No. 3.

Before going off, Samson had a 130 strikeout-to-batter ratio. Samson scored his first T20I half-century with a flurry that included nine boundaries and four sixes. Samson, who has a patchy history with the Indian team, may have finally produced a performance that would allow him to remain on the team for some time.

Former India opening batsman Aakash Chopra spared accolades for Samson, comparing his shotmaking to that of Rohit Sharma and describing it as beautiful and elegantly carefree.

“Sanju was given a chance, and he seized it. He is a great player when he is at-bat. I have never seen Sanju Samson look unattractive, which is the thing about him. He falls into the category of Rohit Sharma, a player who, whenever he plays, performs exceptionally well, scores runs freely, and exerts excellent match control” Aakash Chopra said.

India defeated Ireland by four runs in the second and final T20 International on Tuesday to win the two-match series 2-0.
