India were knocked out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after a 10-wicket loss against England in the semi-finals. During the Super 12 phase, the Rohit Sharma-led team played well, losing only one match against South Africa. Former Australian speedster Brett Lee was mesmerized by some of Suryakumar Yadav’s outrageous shots and the consistency he showed despite playing in Australian conditions for the first time.

The 32-year-old sits at the number one position in the T20I batters’ rankings and has set the stage on fire with his sensational displays in the shortest format of the game. In the recently concluded T20 World Cup, he scored 239 runs in six innings at an incredible average of 59.75 and a strike rate of 189.68, including three half-centuries.

“Well, we know India didn’t win the T20 World Cup, but the ‘SKY’ rose. He is the new global T20 superstar. What a last 12-15 months he has had. On the big stage, he has shone on grassy wickets here in Australia, where the ball skids through, He is like the terminator. His shot selection is like a chess grandmaster,” Brett Lee said.

Someday You Will Also Win A World Cup Event For Team India – Brett Lee

Brett Lee opined that Yadav is dangerous for the opposition because of his consistent performances regardless of the conditions. The speedster advised him not to change his batting style and believes Yadav has the potential to win the World Cup for India.

“SKY was one of the highlights of the T20 World Cup for me and that’s because he continued to bat with the same attitude. Not only will you score big runs, but someday you will also win a World Cup event for Team India,” he added.
