The 2nd ODI of India vs New Zealand was rain-marred. New Zealand now has a 1-0 lead in the 3 Match ODI Series. There were only 12.5 overs bowled in which India scored 89-1. In the 1st ODI, Arshdeep Singh had made his ODI debut and had conceded 68 runs in 8.1 overs as he failed to pick up a wicket.

New Zealand batters carefully played out his initial overs and then later unleashed attack. Arshdeep has made a name for himself in a short span of time and it won’t be wrong to say that he has become an inseparable part of the Indian Cricket Team.

Arshdeep Singh on Debut

Arshdeep Singh was having an interaction with the media and was asked about his experience in the ODI format. “Very grateful for my debut. It is the dream of every youngster to one day represent the country when they first start playing. I felt great making my debut. Now the goal is to keep doing well and get the team wins.” said Arshdeep Singh.

“In the beginning, if the ball does swing so I try to get people out lbw or bowled, but if the ball doesn’t swing, then the plan is to bowl economically and stop runs. Not many differences between bowling four overs in a T20I and an ODI, I will continue to back my strengths and try to stop runs for the team.” he added.

Critical Match for India

The Men in Blue would be well aware that the 3rd ODI is a do-or-die match for them. They would be very keen to break New Zealand’s winning streak and the team would be banking once again on Shikhar Dhawan to lay the foundation for the team.

The management has to take a call between Sanju Samson & Deepak Hooda as benching Samson won’t be right as the batter hasn’t got enough opportunities to make a name for himself. It would be interesting to see with what combination India plays the 3rd ODI and a billion people would hope that they end the tour on a high.
