Indian Cricket Team registered a resounding victory against New Zealand as they won the encounter by 65 runs. New Zealand had won the toss and opted to bowl first. India had astonishingly left out Shubman Gill, Umran Malik, and Sanju Samson which was quite shocking.

The Men in Blue would be ecstatic as winning the match by 65 runs is massive in T20I Cricket. Skipper Hardik Pandya would be delighted with this performance as the team showed intent as winning in New Zealand is never easy that too when senior players are not there.

India managed to put in a mammoth total of 191-6 but they never allowed the Kiwis to make a comeback in the match. Suryakumar Yadav was in lethal form as he smashed a terrific century of 111 runs in 51 balls where he struck 11 fours and 7 sixes. The right-handed batter made a statement to the World Cricket that he is not done yet.

New Zealand hardly played aggressive cricket during run chase. The batters weren’t able to tackle the pace and swing due to which the run rate kept on creeping.  Skipper Kane Williamson should be questioned for playing defensively as his knock of 61 runs in 52 balls didn’t do any good to the team.

The plan was clear when I went into bat- Suryakumar Yadav

During the post-match presentation, Suryakumar Yadav was asked about the match. “The plan was clear when I went into bat. At the 12th/13th over, we thought about batting deep, and getting around 170-175 was a par score,” said Suryakumar Yadav.

Just had my game plan and it worked well- Suryakumar Yadav

“Secret (behind his freak shots) is about the intent and you need to enjoy yourself. It’s also about the work you do in the practice sessions. It’s a great feeling coming here, having a full game and going 1-0 in the series feels good.

“I feel that I didn’t think too much about what was happening. Just had my game plan and it worked well. Fantastic crowd here,” he added.
