Yuzvendra Chahal’s absence from the Indian team for the upcoming T20I series against the West Indies has attracted criticism from Aakash Chopra.

The 18-person Indian team selected for the five-match T20I series against the Caribbean team does not include the cunning leg-spinner. He will, however, be competing against the same opponents in the last ODI series.

Chopra reflected on Yuzvendra Chahal’s absence on his YouTube channel and emphasized how the spinner has not played frequently in recent years. He stated:

“I am referring to Yuzi Chahal, who has played 17 games for India in all, taking 20 wickets at an average of 21. He is performing extremely well. The more he bowls, the better it is, therefore if he has only played this much cricket, do not give him a vacation; instead, let the wagons continue.”

“I do not believe this man would be asking for a break unless there is a niggle that we are unaware of since he played the entire IPL, without a doubt. There are just conjectures when the information does not arrive since we are unable to learn anything” Aakash Chopra said.

In the just finished T20I series against Ireland and England, the former Indian hitter Aakash Chopra noted that Chahal did not even appear in all of the games. He noticed:

“Even then, you only play him in the ODIs and not the T20Is in a series; instead, you play him in one in Ireland, two in England, and then none in the West Indies. I think you need to make him participate.”

The Indian team for the T20Is against the West Indies includes wrist spinners Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav. To decide on their backup wrist-spinner for the T20 World Cup later this year, the selectors may try out the pair.
