In the fifth T20I, India was headed by Hardik Pandya. He won the toss and chose to bat first.

Both sides made substantial changes in order to give their remaining squad members game time.

Regular skipper Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were replaced by Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, and Kuldeep Yadav.

Batting first, India scored 188 runs thanks to Iyer’s half-century, which opened the innings for the first time in T20Is. Pandya and Deepak Hooda both contributed crucial runs in the death and middle overs.

A Lot Of Credit Goes To The Team For Backing Me: Arshdeep Singh

Odean Smith, who gave up 15 runs in his opening over, came back in the final overs to pick up three key wickets for his team.

West Indies got off to the worst possible start in their chase, losing three wickets in the powerplay to Axar Patel. West Indies were defeated 4-50, and it was impossible for them to recover. They eventually lost the match by a score of 88 runs.

West Indies lost 10 wickets to spinners with Patel picking 3, Kuldeep 4 and Bishnoi 3. But through the series, it was Arshdeep Singh who did well for India. He took 7 wickets in the series and for that performance, he was awarded the Player of the Series.

“Feels really good. As Rahul (Dravid) Sir says, we are a process-based team. We are just looking to do the process properly, not thinking too much about the results and that’s what is helping me in my bowling. It’s about being adaptable (as a bowler) and a lot of credit goes to the team management for giving me clarity.

The way the youngsters are being backed is nice, the feel of the dressing room is really good. Helps as a youngster to come in and do whatever you do in your IPL teams/State teams”, Arshdeep said after the match.
