The 44-year-old cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra is highly impressed with Team India’s new aggressive batting approach in the T20 Internationals (T20Is) and he showered praise on the side following the victory of Rohit Sharma and Co. in the 4th T20I against West Indies National Cricket Team.

India National Cricket Team have adopted a fresh batting approach in T20Is, which is to play attacking shots from the very first ball itself. The new attacking brand of cricket has benefitted Team India a lot and they have posted the score of 190+ 7 times in 2022 in T20Is.

In the 4th T20I against West Indies National Cricket Team on Saturday, August 6, at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida, the Men In Blue posted 191/5 on the board.

Rishabh Pant top scored for the side with 44 runs in his bag and he was the only Indian batter to cross the 40 runs mark in the match. Also, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson, Deepak Hooda and Axar Patel made decent contributions.

While defending the target, Arshdeep Singh bagged 3 wickets while Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel picked up 2 wickets each to restrict West Indies to 132/10.

India won the match by 59 runs to take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series and the final T20I will be played on Sunday, August 7. Also, the win in the 4th T20I was India’s 16th T20I win over West Indies in T20Is and if India manage to win the 5th T20I they will equal their own record of 17 T20I wins against Sri Lanka, which is the record for most wins by a side against an opponent in T20Is.

On Sunday, August 7, former India National Cricket Team opening batsman Aakash Chopra took to Twitter to talk about India’s new attacking brand of cricket in T20Is.

He asserted that he is liking Team India’s new brand of cricket where no batter is playing the role of an anchor. Chopra was also pleased to see batters not playing for milestones and continuing the attacking approach.

“Not a single 50+ score but India still posted 190+. Liking this new brand of cricket where nobody plays the ‘anchor’ nobody slows down closer to a ‘milestone’. Moreover…team is giving the vibe of a very happy bunch ?? #INDvsWI,” Aakash Chopra tweeted.

India have registered scores of 199/2, 211/4, 225/7, 198/8, 198/9, 190/6, and 191/5 in T20Is in 2022. Notably, the 7 190+ scores in T20Is registered by Team India are the most by any side in a calendar year.
