West Indies skipper Nicholas Pooran was looking in supreme touch as he went ballistic during the powerplay and hunted Axar Patel, hitting him for three sixes and a four in the span of an over. He was in a good mood, the pitch wasn’t difficult, and the boundaries were modest.
Unfortunately, he was sold down the river in a pointless attempt to get a single. After driving Axar Patel’s delivery to cover-point, Pooran was stuck in the middle of the field after an error in judgment. Fielder Sanju Samson threw it to Pant quickly, who took his time to complete the run-out.
How regrettable that was. After then, the West Indian innings simply fell apart. Nobody got going, and Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh, India’s seamers, were too hot to handle.

Unfortunately, We Did Not Get A Partnership: Nicholas Pooran
Nicholas Pooran was pleased with the way their bowlers made the comeback. However, he was not happy with the way he got run out at an important moment in the game. Expressing his disappointment, the left-handed batter said:

We know they got off to a flying start, but I was happy with the way our guys came back. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a partnership, it was a par score. Not ideal to get run out, it changed the game. There was some miscommunication. But the other guys could have put their hands up and taken us over the line.
Bowlers Need To Find Their Rhythm: Nicholas Pooran
Nicholas Pooran also praised left-arm spinner, Akeal Hosein, for his fantastic performance and highlighted the upcoming opportunities his team needs to take as they build up the squad for the T20 World Cup.

Akeal was brilliant with the ball. The others too need to find their rhythm and find the game. But having said that, congratulations to India.
As a unit we want to win games and tomorrow is an opportunity to take it. It give other guys an opportunity to come in. It is all about building up to that World Cup and finding that balance.
By establishing a commanding 3-1 lead in the five T20I series, India preserved their unblemished series record against the West Indies dating back to 2016. Even though they faltered in the second half of their innings, their aggressive batting strategy enabled them score 191, and their bowlers were effective in stopping the West Indies’ bats with cutters.
