Shikhar Dhawan, a star player who remains a crucial member of India’s ODI teams, has been excluded from T20Is; his last game in the format took place in July of last year.
The veteran stars of Indian cricket are progressively losing ground to rising youthful talent. No other Indian cricketer, even Virat Kohli, can take his position in the Indian team for granted, except Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav in current form.

Speaking about veteran players, Shikhar Dhawan is having trouble re-entering India’s T20I lineup. Dhawan, who has long since given up on playing in Tests, is not worried about being left out and is happy with the way he is playing his game.
“I will be sincere. I do not have a strong sense of disappointment. I believe that everything has its time, and perhaps it is not my time. Maybe I am lacking in something that I have not been very successful at. So do not worry, I did my best, and that is what counts.”

“That is all I worry about as long as I am pleased. It is not as though I will suffer or anything if my name is not called. I am doing my best and am in a great place,” Tak was informed by Dhawan.

Dhawan recently participated in the ODI series against England, where he struck a fifty in the opening game. He later guided India to a 3-0 series victory over the West Indies, scoring two fifties (97 and 58 from three innings) during that match. Dhawan scored over 320 runs the previous time the Asia Cup was played, in 2018, and he was a key factor in India’s victory.

“Why not if the opportunity is there? I give it my all when I play in the IPL. And if I succeed there, I could gain opportunities. The rest is up to the selections, depending on how they think and what their vision is. As I mentioned, it is great if it works, but it is also okay if it doesn’t. I maintain my strength and fitness so that whenever the chance arises, I am prepared, ” he added.
Shikhar Dhawan will lead India in the forthcoming ODI series against Zimbabwe, but it will be intriguing to watch if Dhawan will be taken into consideration when the selectors gather on Monday to choose the team for the Asia Cup.
