IND vs WI: Some Terrific Performances Under Pressure Was A Great Sign For A Young Team; Shikhar Dhawan Led Very Well – Rahul Dravid

Legendary India National Cricket Team batter and current head coach, Rahul Dravid, hailed the young Team India for their terrific performance in the recently concluded three-match ODI series against the West Indies National Cricket Team.

India won the thrilling first ODI by 3 runs and the nail-biting second ODI by 2 wickets to seal the series in the first two games. In the third ODI, India won by 119 runs to whitewash West Indies on Caribbean soil.

In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after the series, Dravid said that the level of professionalism showed by the players was amazing and the brilliant performance under high-pressure situations is a great sign.

“We came here with a really young team. Lot of the guys who played the England series didn’t play here and the way you guys have responded, the way you guys played in three games and the level of professionalism you showed…,” Dravid said in his dressing room speech after the final ODI.

“Couple of tight games and to get on the right side of those high-pressure games, some terrific performances under pressure was a really great sign for a very young team. Really well done by Shikhar. I think he led very well. Well done to all of you, terrific performance.”

With the 3-0 ODI series victory over West Indies, Shikhar Dhawan became the first-ever Indian captain to clean sweep West Indies on their home soil.

Meanwhile, Dhawan, in the same video, thanked all the team members and support staff for their help. He also lauded the players for performing well in both the batting and bowling department.

“As a team, we would like to thank the support staff and all the team members who have helped us. Really appreciate your support. And well-done boys, both batting and bowling unit.

“You guys did amazing. You guys are young and have the vision to become much more than what you are today. You guys have already started taking those steps and you guys will go a long way,” Dhawan said.
