West Indies face a dominating Indian team in a five-match T20I series after losing the ODI series. The first T20I will be played in Tarouba in Trinidad on July 29. The final two games will be played at Lauderhill in Florida.
West Indies will be led by Nicholas Pooran who lamented at yet another ODI series loss and blamed their batting effort for the loss against India.
“As a batting group, it was going to be a challenge with DLS coming into play. We did get some partnerships, but not as many as we wanted, which cost us the game. There are a few inexperienced players, still figuring out how to play ODI cricket” said Pooran.
West Indies will be playing a format now that is best suited to their style of play. In this article, we take a look at their predicted playing XI for the first T20I against India.

Pooran scored 42 in the final T20I but his score was not enough to help his side win the game. He will head into the first T20I with good form.

Shepherd is another lower-order hitting all-rounder. It is these all-rounders who make the Windies a competitive unit in T20Is. He was dropped in the third ODI but should come back in the first T20I.
Hayden Walsh
Walsh will be the second specialist spinner in the playing XI. He is a quality leg-spinner with good variations and someone who can vary his pace as well.
