Veteran India National Cricket Team right-arm pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar castled the West Indies National Cricket Team opener, Shamarh Brooks, in the first T20I match of the five-match T20I series at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad on Friday, July 29.

While defending the target in the first T20I, Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave away 11 runs in the first over he bowled. He came to bowl his second over in the 6th over of the match and the pacer delivered a sensational over.

The first ball of the 6th over bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar was a dot ball. On the second ball of the over, Bhuvneshwar bowled a slower delivery on a length around the middle and leg. The West Indies batter played his shot too early, completely missed his stroke and the ball smashed into the top of the leg stump.

Brooks was able to score 20 runs off 15 balls, including 2 fours and 1 six, before being dismissed by the Indian pacer. Also, the next four deliveries of the last over of the powerplay, bowled by Bhuvneshwar, were dot balls and he finished with a wicket-maiden.

Earlier, West Indies won the toss and elected to field first in the match. Pacer Alzarri Joseph made his T20I debut and Shimron Hetmyer made his comeback to the side. West Indies fielded one spinner in Akeal Hosein and India, on the other hand, played 3 spinners, including Ravi Bishnoi, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

Also, India were able to post 190/6 on the board. The top 2 performers for India were skipper Rohit Sharma and veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik. Rohit Sharma scored 64 runs off 44 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes, before being dismissed by Jason Holder and Dinesh Karthik was able to smash unbeaten 41 runs off 19 balls, including 4 fours and 2 sixes.
