WI vs IND: Massive Blow For Team India Ahead Of Asia Cup 2022 As Rohit Sharma Walks Off The Field Retired Hurt During 3rd T20I vs West Indies
India is playing in the 3rd T20I against the West Indies. Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, is looking to get back on track after being defeated by the hosts by 5 wickets in the second T20I. With the series now tied at 1-1, the Men in Blue will be eager to take the lead.
Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field. India made one change with Deepak Hooda coming in for Ravindra Jadeja. He started the bowling for India as well giving just 1 run in his over.
Rohit Sharma Felt Discomfort In His Back
But after that, it was all about Kyle Mayers who scored a half-century. Riding on his 73 off 50 balls West Indies posted 164 runs in 20 overs. He was ably supported by Rovman Powell and Shimron Hetmyer in the death overs as WI went after Avesh Khan specifically. Khan gave away 47 runs in his 3 overs.
India started their chase well as Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav got off to a decent start but in the 2nd over of the innings after hitting a six and a four, India were struck a major blow as Rohit walked away from the crease. He felt a little discomfort in his back after hitting a boundary on the third delivery of the 2nd over and got retired hurt.
This is a major blow to India ahead of the Asia Cup if his injury is serious. There has been no official word on his injury yet.
