Ajay Jadeja, a former India batsman, noticed an interesting similarity between Shikhar Dhawan and the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, stating how the left-handed batter had characteristics of the former India captain in his batting.
India appears to have discovered a strong opening partnership in Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill. Starting with the West Indies tour, Dhawan and Gill’s left-hand/right-hand combo has enjoyed success in almost all of the games they have opened together.

On Thursday, they stitched an undefeated 192-run partnership against Zimbabwe in the first ODI in Harare. Both hitters were brilliant and remained unbeaten on scores of 80 or above, but Dhawan kept improving his consistency. Even though he is no longer a member of India’s T20I and Test squads, the veteran India opener continues to demonstrate every series why he is an essential component of the ODI setup.

India cruised to a 10-wicket victory after chasing down 190 in 30.5 overs thanks to Dhawan’s 38th ODI fifty. Along with 97 and 58 against the West Indies, this was Dhawan’s third fifty in four innings.
The next generation is always quicker, faster, smarter: Ajay Jadeja
Ajay Jadeja, a former India hitter, noticed a strange resemblance between Dhawan and the legendary Sachin Tendulkar when observing the India opener in such good spirits, stating how the left-handed batter had characteristics of the former India skipper in his hitting.

“There will always be a time when you are re-energized, and you must adjust your game because the new generation is always quicker, faster, and smarter. And they are continually pushing you. Back to Sachin Tendulkar for an example. Consider him when Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, and the rest of the team arrived” Ajay Jadeja said.

“In his professional life, he did the same thing. To keep up with the younger crowd, he had to reinvent himself and adjust the tempo at which he played the game “Ajay Jadeja said during the post-match show.
Dhawan was India’s highest ODI run-scorer in 2022, with 388 runs, and he increased his tally to 469 with a strong unbeaten 81 against Zimbabwe in the series opener.
