Deepak Chahar, an Indian bowler, has been included in the team for the forthcoming three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe and is ready to make his return to the field for India. The 29-year-old has been out since February of this year after suffering an injury in Kolkata’s third T20I match against West Indies.

The right-arm medium pacer suffered a hamstring injury during that home series and was anticipated to return for Chennai Super Kings in the middle of IPL 2022. However, while undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, he sustained a back injury that caused him to miss a significant amount of time.

The Injury Is Healed Completely, I Am Fully Fit Now: Deepak Chahar

The CSK medium pacer is now in Chennai, practicing his batting and bowling at the CSK academy.

“I have been playing practice matches at the NCA. Right now, I am practicing at the CSK academy in Chennai. It has been raining here. The injury is healed completely, I am fully fit now,” Chahar said.

The medium pacer with a right arm has built a reputation as a useful batter later in the order.

Deepak Chahar will want to impress with his performance in the few opportunities he will get in the Zimbabwe series given that major competitions like the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup are set to begin in a short period of time.

He is reportedly also a contender for the Asia Cup T20 competition, whose roster is expected to be revealed on Monday (August 8). The veteran of 20 T20Is and seven ODIs has established a reputation for himself in the shorter version of the game.

Still, many other young players have risen up in his place, so he will need to play very well if he wants to be selected for the multi-nation events.
