GT vs RR: I Hope Jos Buttler Retains Orange Cap, But Doesn't Score In The Qualifier 1: Rahul Tewatia

Gujarat Titans’ (GT) Rahul Tewatia praised former colleague Jos Buttler of Rajasthan Royals (RR) in front of Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday (May 24).
Tewatia played for Rajasthan Royals between 2020-2021 preceding the franchise releasing him in front of the 2022 mega auction. The Royals, however, held Buttler, who has been with the Rajasthan-based side starting around 2018.

Gujarat Titans shared a video wherein three previous Royals – Tewatia, David Miller and Varun Aaron – thought back about the time they enjoyed with the Rajasthan Royals.
“He (Buttler) is as calm off the field as he is aggressive with the bat,” said Tewatia.
“I hope he retains the orange cap but doesn’t score against us.”
Miller, too, echoed Tewatia’s words, adding, “(He has been) very solid. The way he has been batting is incredible this season.
England international Buttler holds the orange cap, having scored 629 runs, the most in the continuous competition. The right-hander stacked up the runs in his 14 innings for Rajasthan Royals at an average of 48.38.
Varun Aaron noted that he “got to share the dressing room with some of the greats”.
Rahul Tewatia And David Miller Praise Former Team Skipper Sanju Samson
In the meantime, both Tewatia and Miller additionally stacked acclaim in their former team skipper Sanju Samson.
“Being in the (bio) bubble, you get to do a lot more with the team. Sanju as captain has got really nice balance. (He is a) great guy and a seriously good cricketer,” said Miller.
Tewatia added, “Playing for Rajasthan Royals was a breakthrough for me. Sanju has been a great captain on the field. We share a close bond; excited to meet him in the playoffs.”
New contestants Gujarat Titans turned into the first team to qualify for the playoff games. Rajasthan Royals pushed Lucknow Super Giants to the Eliminator, getting their place in the Qualifier 1 against the table-clinchers Titans.
