South Africa pace bowler Anrich Nortje is reportedly said to be available to play for the IPL franchise Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022 from early April. Nortje has been suffering hip injury for a long period and it has also kept him away from international cricket.

The 28-year-old fast bowler was last seen in South Africa jersey during the ICC T20 World Cup in November and later missed the Test series against India and New Zealand owing to his injury woes. Nortje also wasn’t part of the ongoing ODI series against Bangladesh that cast doubts over his availability in the upcoming season of the IPL.

Nortje has already reached Mumbai and is currently under quarantine for the last two days. The South African pacer snapped 12 wickets from eight matches in IPL 2021 and was subsequently retained by the franchise in the retention players list. Nortje was retained for INR 6.5 crores along with skipper Rishabh Pant, all-rounder Axar Patel and opener Prithvi Shaw.
