Suresh Raina
There is no denying that Suresh Raina has played an instrumental role in CSK’s success in IPL over the years. He is CSK’s highest run-getter in the history of IPL. However, the franchise shocked everyone after not retaining him for the next edition of the tournament.
The decision was taken largely due to the dip in his form in recent times. He struggled badly in the 2021 edition of the tournament. The southpaw succumbed to the short balls being bowled at him by all the opposition teams. In 12 matches, he scored 160 runs at a dismal average of 17.77.
Suresh Raina has played some outstanding knocks in IPL in the past. However, looking at his current form, he is likely to go unsold at the auctions.

Umesh Yadav
Things didn’t go down too well in 2020 either, and ahead of the 2021 edition of the tournament, Umesh Yadav was bought by Delhi Capitals. Though, he didn’t play a single game during the season. With so many young Indian pacers coming up through the ranks, we might not see Umesh Yadav bowl ever again in IPL.

Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik last played an international match for India in the ICC 2019 World Cup semi-final against New Zealand. The team management has overlooked him since.
Karthik played for Kolkata Knight Riders till last year. However, the franchise chose not to retain him for the next edition of the tournament. And, given how he has performed, over the last few years, in IPL, not a lot of franchises would be interested in buying his services. He scored 223 runs in 17 matches at an average of 22.30 last year. One shouldn’t get surprised if he goes unsold at the auctions.
