IPL 2022: Blessing Muzarabani Signed As A Net Bowler Only For Lucknow Supergiants (LSG)- Reports

Some reports claim that Blessing Muzarabani has only joined Lucknow Supergiants as a net bowler for IPL 2022 and not as a replacement for Mark Wood. Earlier, there were reports that Blessing Muzarabani will replace Mark Wood in Lucknow Supergiants.

Mark Wood has pulled out of the tournament due to an injury. As a result, Wood will not be part of Lucknow Super Giants. The franchise bought him for Rs. 7.5 crores during the auction. So far, the franchise has not announced any replacement for Wood.

Blessing Muzarabani Signed As A Net Bowler For Lucknow Super Giants- Reports

Blessing Muzarabani is a 25-year-old pacer from Zimbabwe. He is expected to join Lucknow Super Giants as a net bowler. The rumours of Muzarabani replacing Mark Wood spread after Indian High Commission in Harara posted a picture of the Zimbabwe pacer.

He wrote along with the post, “Ambassador met with Mr Blessing Muzarabani, the Zimbabwean bowler, as he prepared to leave for #IPL2022. Ambassador wished him & his team #LucknowSuperGiants the very best.”

The Lucknow Super Giants officials remained silent on the matter but some officials have informed that Blessing Muzarabani has only joined as a net bowler for IPL 2022. Hence, the replacement of Mark Wood is yet to be announced. The team is set to announce a replacement for the English pacer soon.

Other than Wood, some other pacers that Lucknow Super Giants have in their squad are Jason Holder, Avesh Khan, Ankit Singh Rajpoot, and Dushmanta Chameera. The team will be led by KL Rahul in the tournament.

IPL 2022 is set to commence on March 26. In the opening game, Chennai Super Kings will face Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Lucknow Super Giants will play their opening game against Gujarat Titans on March 28.
