IPL 2022: Brad Hogg Believes Hardik Pandya Can Lead India In White Ball Cricket
A former Australian limited-overs specialist, Brad Hogg finds no evident problems in Hardik Pandya’s captaincy and believes he can soon lead India in white-ball cricket. According to the former Australian spinner, Hardik Pandya is an outstanding leader who will only improve with time.
Pandya has been brilliant with the available resources in IPL 2022, where he is leading for the first time in his cricketing career. The 28-year-old has led the Gujarat Titans to nine victories in 12 games, making them the first team to secure a playoff berth this season.
Hardik Pandya Has Set A Blue Print For Young Leaders To Follow: Brad Hogg
The 51-year-old, speaking on his YouTube channel said. “Pandya will continue to develop as captain.
However, Hogg believes the all-rounder will require guidance in specific scenarios. He thinks the Baroda-born player has paved the way for future leaders, saying: “Are there any issues with his captaincy?
“No, he’s got a great foundation. He’s just going to grow, he’s just got to get the right people around him to make sure that he doesn’t get too far ahead of himself. And those people that know him to pull it back when it needs to and to encourage him when he’s feeling a little bit of doubt there.”
Hogg further added, “You do need your mentors. You do need a good support group around you that’s all that Pandya needs with his captaincy role. But at the end of the day, he’s brilliant. He’s a true leader and for everyone out there that’s following my vlogs, if you want to be a leader, I think you should look at the way Pandya goes about it.”
Hardik Pandya has been very good with the bat and has led from the front. A fully fit Hardik Pandya no doubt may be in consideration to lead India in the future.
