IPL 2022: On the 14th anniversary of the Indian Premier League on 18th April 2022, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders played one of the most entertaining games of the tournament. The game had many ebbs and flows, so much so that even in the high scoring game, it wasn’t clear who would win the match.

Jos Buttler, who scored his second century of the season in a conversation with Yuzvendra Chahal after the game said that he had believed that RR would win the match despite some late order bashing by Umesh Yadav.

Before Umesh Yadav threatened to take the game away from RR, Chahal had turned the game on its head by picking up a hat-trick.

I Did Not Expect That Umesh Yadav Would Smash Trent Boult: Jos Buttler

RR had scored a massive 217 in their first innings. Kolkata Knight Riders had responded well to the target as at one point they needed just 40 runs to win in 4 overs with Shreyas Iyer, and Venkatesh Iyer batting together. But one over from Chahal changed everything. He got both the Iyers out.

But Umesh Yadav in the very next overcame all guns blazing against Trent Boult and hit him for 2 sixes and a four in the single over. He brought the equation down to a situation where it could have been anybody’s game. But a brilliant last over by debutant Obey McCoy saw RR get over the line.

“I still had some belief that we could win. I was not expecting Umesh Yadav to smash Boult around. Obed bowled a brilliant 19th over, he has great skill with the slower ball. That along with the long side of the ground was going to be tough for KKR,” Buttler told Chahal in the video.

After this win RR got to the 2nd on the points table as now they have won 4 games out of the 6 they have played.
