Hosts For Other Two Playoff Games Yet To Be Confirmed

According to a report in India Today, Ahmedabad will most certainly host Qualifier 1 and the final but there is still some discussion over which city will host the other two matches.

Lucknow and Kolkata are in consideration to host the Eliminator and Qualifier 2 but Kolkata as per reports leads the race.

Some members are in favour of Lucknow hosting the two games as now there is a franchise based out of Lucknow, but some are in favour of Kolkata, we would only know once the final decision is made.

The 15th edition of the IPL is currently being played in Maharashtra across 4 stadiums in Mumbai and Pune. This was done to ensure minimal travel was required.

Last year, the BCCI had scheduled the IPL across different cities in India but the league was postponed due to Covid 19 cases in some team camps.

2nd wave of Covid had also hit India badly due to which the 2nd half of the league was played in UAE. While the 2020 season of the league was played entirely in UAE.

This time though, BCCI wanted to conduct the entire season in India itself. There were reports that the board might consider other options, but nothing of that sort happened.

Even now, BCCI wants to keep it tight and is therefore planning to keep the playoffs to just 2 venues.
