The IPL 2022 playoffs have been confirmed thanks to the result of the 69th match of the tournament between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) which was played at Wankhede Stadium on May 21, 2022.

Earlier, the BCCI has announced that the first qualifier on May 24 and the Eliminator match of the IPL 2022 playoffs on May 25 will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata; while the second qualifier on May 27 and the final of the tournament will be played on May 29 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

All these four playoff matches will have 100% crowd capacity in the stadiums with the final match being preceded by a glittering closing ceremony in which Bollywood personalities Ranveer Singh and AR Rahman are scheduled to perform and will celebrate the 75 years of Indian independence.

Gujarat Titans (GT) To Play Rajasthan Royals (RR) In The First Qualifier In Kolkata On May 24, Tuesday  

Until now, Gujarat Titans (GT) were the first team to qualify for the playoffs and finished the league stage at the no.1 position, and confirmed their spot in the first qualifier. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) were the second team to qualify for the playoffs, after they defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on May 18.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) became the third team to qualify for the playoffs after they defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 20 and thanks to a better net run rate, left LSG behind and finished in the second spot on the points table, securing their spot in the first qualifier of the IPL 2022.

This match will be played at the Eden Gardens under light and 100% crowd behind them.

Gujarat Titans won 10 matches in the league stage and the Hardik Pandya-led team won some matches from the jaws of defeat as well. They will be faced off against a well-oiled Rajasthan Royals who came into the first qualifier after 9 wins in the league stage.

The winner of this match will go straight into the finals on May 29, while the loser will play the winner of the second qualifier on May 27.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) To Play Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) In The Eliminator On May 25, Wednesday

The Eliminator match of the IPL 2022 will be played between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on May 25 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. While LSG was the second team to qualify for the playoffs, RCB came into the final four thanks to a little help from Mumbai Indians.

MI defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) in their final league match by 5 wickets, giving RCB the push into the 4th spot, as DC finished with 14 points only, despite a better net run rate.

The loser of this match will bid adieu to IPL 2022 tournament, while the winner will get a chance to qualify for the finals, as they meet the loser of the first qualifier in the second qualifying match on May 25 in Ahmedabad.

The winner of the first qualifier and second qualifier will meet in the finals of the IPL 2022 on May 29.

Qualifier 1: Gujarat Titans vs Rajasthan Royals – 7:30 PM Tue, 24th May (Kolkata)

Eliminator: Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bangalore – 7:30 PM Wed, 25th May (Kolkata)

Qualifier 2: Loser of Qualifier 1 vs Winner of Eliminator – 7:30 PM Fri, 27th May (Ahmedabad)

FINAL: Winner of Qualifier 1 vs Winner Qualifier 2 – 8 PM Sun, 29th May (Ahmedabad)
