Rajasthan Royals will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their first encounter of IPL 2022. The match will take place on March 29 at MCA Stadium in Pune. Rajasthan Royals will be led by Sanju Samson in IPL 2022.

Ahead of the tournament, Rajasthan Royals retained 3 players in their squad. They were Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Sanju Samson was the team’s top retention at Rs. 14 crores.

During IPL 2022 auction, Rajasthan Royals bought 21 players in their squad. Prasidh Krishna was their most expensive player at Rs. 10 crores. Some other key players that Rajasthan bought during the auction were Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Shimron Hetmyer, Devdutt Padikkal, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Rassie Van Der Dussen.

Last season in IPL 2021, Rajasthan gave a poor show. Out of 14 games during the league stage, the team won just 5 games and lost 9. They finished on the 7th spot on the points table and failed to qualify for playoffs.
