Given his current form, former New Zealand bowler Simon Doull believes Karthik should play the T20 World Cup in Australia as a reserve batsman.

Dinesh Karthik last played for India in the 2019 ODI World Cup, when the side lost in the semi-finals against New Zealand. Before being selected by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for a big amount of 5.50 crore in the February auction, the experienced wicket-keeper- got interested in a commentary.

Karthik has indeed been able to unbuckle the door and make a solid argument for the T20 World Cup in the current Indian Premier League (IPL). Karthik makes the team an experienced pick with enough international experience, despite some difficult competition between existing players. This year, he’s been in excellent form for Bangalore.

Karthik hit an undefeated 66 off 34 balls against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, reminding India fans of his Nidahas Trophy-winning 8-ball-29. In a 28-run 18th over, he blasted Mustafizur Rahman for four fours and two sixes. Bangalore overcame Delhi by 16 runs thanks to the keeper’s unbeaten 97-run partnership with Shahbaz Ahmed for the sixth wicket.

Given his current form, former New Zealand bowler Simon Doull believes Karthik must play the T20 World Cup in Australia as a reserve batsman. In the current IPL season, the Indians have gone undefeated on five of six occasions, winning games at a strike rate of 200 or higher.

He can bat at No. 6, 7, or even No. 5 if necessary.” After Bangalore’s victory, Simon Doull told the host broadcaster, “He’s playing so well and with so much confidence right now.
