The fact that we had to stay in bubbles and couldn’t even go home and visit family was a challenge, according to Rishabh. However, as a sportsperson, you must adjust to these circumstances.
Rishabh Pant has been with the Delhi Capitals since the 2016 IPL season, and it is only in 2018 that he has become a significant contributor to the team.
As it turned out, he was assigned captaincy duties in the second half of the IPL 2021, and he did an outstanding job leading his club to the season’s knockout stages. He was re-signed as a full-time captain with the franchise ahead of the IPL 2022 season.
Rishabh Pant discusses bio bubbles and their difficulties;
“As a sportsperson, you must be an all-rounder who can adapt to any situation. The fact that we had to stay in bubbles and couldn’t even go home and see our families posed a difficulty. However, you must come up with your solutions to deal with it and continue to improve. I didn’t have much time to re-energize.”
“So I started reading a lot of books and reading online to improve my general knowledge. The best thing about bubbles is that they bring your company closer together.”
“I try to focus on the controllable,” Says, Rishabh Pant :
The former Under-19 player has gone a long way in the face of persistent criticism, from comparisons to MS Dhoni to weak glovework at the start of his career.
Recognizing that no matter what occurs, criticism will persist, he said: “It makes no difference whether I feel at ease or not. Criticism will inevitably occur. I attempt to concentrate on the variables that I can influence.”
The captain of the Delhi Capitals says it took him almost two years to improve people’s perceptions of his wicketkeeping ability, saying:
“You can’t expect results quickly, and changing your mind in a month is challenging. It took me two years to modify that perception of myself.”
Pant will take over as captain of the Delhi Capitals in the upcoming IPL 2022 season. On March 27, the 2020 IPL finalists will face the Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium.
