Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday announced Sushant Mishra as a replacement for Saurabh Dubey. 24 year old Saurabh Dubey, Who was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the auction at his base price of 20 Lakhs, Has a back injury, which has ruled him out for rest of the tournament.
Sushant Mishra is a left-arm medium-pacer from Ranchi, Jharkhand. was part of the 2020 U19 Indian side in which India ended up as the runners up. Mishra partnered Kartik Tyagi with the new ball at the U-19 World Cup. Tyagi went on to play for Rajasthan Royals and did well for them. He too was acquired by Subnrisers Hyderabad in the auctions. Mishra was instrumental in India’s win over Pakistan in the U 19 WC semifinal.
He predominantly bowls short of good length and likes to make judicious use of bouncers, two of Mishra’s three wickets in the semifinal came off short deliveries which hurried the batters and bounced high enough to take the top edge.
Sushant Mishra Plays For Jharkhand In Domestic Cricket
Mishra made his List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2021 against Delhi. He has till now played only 2 List A games.
As far as First Class cricket is concerned, he made his debut earlier this year for Jharkhand against Chattisgarh. He played all 4 games for Jharkhand and is expected to play in the knockout stages of the tournament later in the year.
In 4 FC games, he has taken 13 wickets with best bowling figures of 5/27.
He has replaced a promising 24-year old pacer from Vidarbha Saurabh Rajendraprasad Dubey. Dubey has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament because of a back injury.
Dubey made his List A debut for India’s Emerging side against Nepal in 2019. His last List A game came more than a year ago against Tamil Nadu at Indore.
In 8 List A games, he has picked up 16 wickets. Dubey has not played any other form of cricket. His replacement Sushant Mishra will be joining SRH at his base price of 20 Lacs.
