IPL 2022: They Are Profesionals! Gautam Gambhir On Krunal Pandya, Deepak Hooda Playing For Lucknow Super Giants

Gautam Gambhir reacted to Krunal Pandya and Deepak Hooda playing for the same team in IPL 2022 saying that they are professionals and they know they have a job to do. Gautam Gambhir is the mentor of the Lucknow Super Giants team in IPL 2022.

The franchise picked Krunal Pandya and Deepak Hooda during IPL 2022 auction. Both the players were indulged in banter earlier while playing for their domestic team Baroda. However, now they will be playing together in IPL 2022 for Lucknow.

You Don’t Have To Be Best Friends Off The Field To Perform On It: Gautam Gambhir

When Gautam Gambhir was asked by PTI about how he feels about both the players sharing the same team in IPL 2022 considering their past altercation, he said that both of them are professionals and know their job.

“Look, you don’t have to be best friends off the field to perform on it. They are professionals and they know that they have a job to do. You don’t have to go out for dinner every night if you are playing in the same team,” Gambhir said.

The former India opener also said that a player does not need to be friends will every teammate to perform in matches.

“I have not been friends with everyone in every team that I have played in. But that hasn’t stopped me from giving my best when I am out there on the field. These are mature people and they know there are here to win matches for Lucknow, ” Gambhir further said.

Gautam Gambhir also said that the franchise picked both Krunal Pandya and Deepak Hooda during the auction as they wanted more all-rounders in the side.

“When we were preparing the strategy for our team, we wanted more all-rounders and we got our chairman Dr. Sanjiv Goenka’s approval. It always helps to have multi-dimensional cricketers as they give you more options. It’s always good to have batters, who can chip in with two or three overs,” Gautam Gambhir further said.

Other than Pandya and Hooda, some other crucial players in LSG are KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, Jason Holder, Quinton de Kock, and Avesh Khan. KL Rahul is going to lead the team in the tournament. Lucknow will play its first match on March 28, when they face Gujarat Titans.
