The Indian Premier League’s 15th edition or the IPL 2022 will be a new turn for the world’s most popular and richest T20 league, as not only will it introduce two new teams to the mix- The Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), making it a ten-team event for the first time since 2011. And for the first time ever, Gujarati commentary will also be introduced to the fans in the league.
The IPL 2022 kicks off on March 26 with the last edition’s finalists Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders battling it out in the curtain-raiser at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. The tournament will see 12 doubleheaders as well, with a total of 74 matches in the tournament.
The 70 league stage matches will be played across four venues in Maharashtra- the Wankhede Stadium, the Brabourne Stadium, the DY Patil Stadium, and the MCA Stadium in Pune. The venues for the four playoff matches will be finalized later. The first doubleheader of the tournament will be played on March 27, Sunday.

Just days ahead of the commencement of the marquee tournament, it has been reported that new innovations have been added to the commentary team. For the first time, commentary will be presented to the fans in Marathi and Gujarati languages as well. ‘
Usually, apart from English and Hindi, the official broadcasters of the tournament have also managed to keep the audience enthralled with Tamil and Kannada commentary in the last few years apart from other regional languages. Now Gujarati and Marathi languages have also been added to the mix.

“We all want to show how this IPL is different from the previous 14 and what is new in it. This time IPL will have commentary in Bengali and Malayalam on Saturday and Sunday. Apart from this, we will also do commentary of the entire tournament in Marathi language. The entire IPL is being organized in Pune and Mumbai in Maharashtra.
No other state in India watches as much cricket as Maharashtra. According to the market and this time in IPL 74 matches will be shown in Marathi language.
