The IPL 2022 action continued here on Sunday with yet another doubleheader day where Punjab Kings took on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first game of the day and Gujarat Titans took on Chennai Super Kings.

Both the games were not as high scoring as most of the games have been this season.

In the first game, Sunrisers Hyderabad won their 4th successive match while in the 2nd game of the day, Gujarat Titans snatched victory out of the hands of Chennai Super Kings.

PBKS vs SRH

Punjab Kings while batting first posted 151 on the board. Liam Livingstone hit yet another 50 as his vital contribution in the middle helped Punjab post a respectable total.

The pick of the bowlers for SRH was Umran Malik who through his sheer pace got 4 wickets in the game.

Kane Williamson didn’t have a great outing with the bat but Abishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran all contributed to taking SRH home with 7 wickets in hand.

It was the third game in a row where Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram finished the match for SRH.

GT vs CSK

Robin Uthappa got out early, Moeen Ali too couldn’t add much but Ruturaj Gaikwad got back into the form as he hit 73 off 48 to help CSK post 169 runs on the board. He was well supported by Ambati Rayudu who scored 46 off 31 balls.

The pick of the bowlers for GT was Alzarri Joseph who was playing his first game of the season. He picked up 2 wickets for 34 runs in his 4 overs.

GT had a horrible start with the bat as they lost 16-3, with Gill scoring a golden duck. In the absence of Hardik Pandya, their middle-order struggled to get going against Maheesh Theekshana. But a blinder of an innings by David Miller snatched victory out of the hands of CSK who lost their 5th game of the season. A brilliant cameo in the end by Rashid Khan also helped GT’s cause.

SRH courtesy of their 4th consecutive win moved in the top 4 of the points table, while PBKS sit in the 7th position. Gujarat Titans courtesy of their win against CSK solidified their position at the top of the table While CSK is at the 9th position.

Updated Orange Cap:


Jos Buttler still leads the list, and Liam Livingstone moved to the 5th spot courtesy of his 50 against SRH. While Shivam Dube moved to the 4th position.

Updated Purple Cap:


T Natarajan has moved up to the 2nd place with 12 wickets along with Yuzvendra Chahal while the Rajasthan Royals spinner continues to lead the charts with better economy in the IPL 2022.
