Wasim Jaffer, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) batting coach has announced his departure from the franchise in an amazing and hilarious way, by posting a meme featuring Ranbir Kapoor on his Twitter account. The former India opener had joined the then Kings XI Punjab in the year 2019 and worked closely with other support staff.
Jaffer has been an integral part of the PBKS support staff as batting coach, which he had joined in 2019 when he had become the first player to feature in 150 Ranji matches. He had joined Anil Kumble, who is the director of cricket operations and head coach at the franchise. PBKS also has Damien Wright as bowling coach and Jonty Rhodes as fielding coach.
Wasim Jaffer has himself been part of the Indian Premier League when he played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the inaugural edition of the league in IPL 2008. Wasim then scored mere 115 runs in six matches at 19.16.
However, he posted a hilarious way of announcing his departure, as he thanked the head coach of the franchise Anil Kumble and the franchise itself.
“Adios, and thank you @PunjabKingsIPL, it’s been a pleasure. Wishing @anilkumble1074 and the team very best for #IPL2022,” Jaffer tweeted.
