5. Ishant Sharma- 5/12

Ishant Sharma might not be one of the top bowlers in the Indian Premier League, but his name pops up when we take a look at the best bowling figures in the tournament. In IPL 2011, the right-arm pacer picked 5 wickets for 12 runs in his 3-overs spell for Deccan Chargers.

In the match, Deccan Chargers batted first and scored 129-7. Against the low target, Kochi Tuskers Kerala faced a big batting collapse and was bowled out for just 74 runs. Ishant Sharma stood out of the crowd with his 5-wicket haul in the match, helping his team to win by 55 runs.

Former Indian skipper Anil Kumble once picked 5 wickets for 5 runs in a match in IPL 2009, and this is the record for the 4th best bowling figures in the tournament. Kumble came up with this impeccable bowling show against Rajasthan Royals while representing Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Batting first, RCB could pile up just 133-8 on the board. However, they successfully managed to defend their score with a brilliant bowling show. Anil Kumble bowled 3.1 overs and picked 5 wickets for 5 runs. RCB managed to grab the victory by 75 runs, bowling out Rajasthan Royals for just 58 runs.

3. Adam Zampa- 6/19

Adam Zampa grabs the 3rd spot on this list. In IPL 2016, the right-arm spinner hunted 6 wickets for 19 runs while playing for Rising Pune Supergiants. Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first in the match. With Adam Zampa’s excellent bowling spell, Pune managed to restrict them to 137-8.

However, Rising Pune Supergiants failed to chase the target with equally good bowling by the SRH. Pune could only reach 133-8 in 20 overs and lost the match by 4 runs.

In a match against Chennai Super Kings, the left-arm pacer scalped 6 wickets for 14 runs in his 4 overs. Chennai Super Kings was bowled out for just 109 in the match. Later, Rajasthan Royals easily managed to chase the target and won by 8 wickets.

1. Alzarri Joseph- 6/12

Alzarri Joseph tops this list. While playing for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2019, the West Indies pacer scalped 6 wickets for 12 runs in his 4-overs spell. Batting first, Mumbai Indians could only smash 136-7 in the 1st innings. With Joseph’s incredible bowling, Mumbai Indians managed to bowl out Sunrisers Hyderabad for 96 and won the match by 40 runs.
