KKR vs RR: Watch - Aaron Finch Chops On As His Poor IPL Continues
Aaron Finch came in as a replacement player for Alex Hales in the Kolkata Knight Riders squad for IPL 2022. He joined the squad late as he was leading the Australian team on their tour to Pakistan when the IPL began.
In his most recent outing, he got out for just 4 runs as Kuldeep Sen of Rajasthan Royals cleaned him up.
Aaron Finch – A Big Name Player In International Cricket But Not So Impressive In IPL
Aaron Finch is a big name player in international cricket, but he has never really had a big impact in the IPL. This season too he has struggled to score runs. Apart from a half-century, he hit in his 2nd game of the season he has not made any other big scores.
Even against RR, in a small chase of 153 runs, he was hurried by a fast pace delivery by young Kuldeep Sen. He lost his balance while playing the shot as the ball took the inside edge of his stump and hit the middle and leg.
Aaron Finch has played for record 9 franchises in IPL, which kind of proves he hasn’t been a consistent performer in the league. He has mostly been picked in the league by various teams because he always seems to be in good touch in international cricket. But coming into IPL 2022, Finch was not in great touch and it surprised many when he was announced as a replacement player for Hales.
Earlier in the day, RR scored 152 runs on the back of Sanju Samson’s half-century and a quickfire 27 off 13 balls by Shimron Hetmyer in the death overs.
KKR bowlers kept it tight, as Umesh Yadav picked up a wicket for just 24 runs in his 4 overs while Narine was ever reliable with his 4 overs as he just gave away only 19 runs.
KKR would be disappointed with how Finch got out as they had huge expectations from him. They have lost 5 on the trot and are desperately looking for a win. An early jolt in their chase wouldn’t have helped the team.
