LSG vs GT: Twitter Reacts As GT Cement Their Playoffs Spot In IPL 2022 With A Win Over LSG

In the 57th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) locked horns with Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Tuesday, May 10.

Gujarat Titans won the match by 62 runs against Lucknow Super Giants to reach 18 points mark and now they have officially qualified for the playoffs.

Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to bat first and they made three changes to the playing XI as Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade, Tamil Nadu left-arm spinner Sai Kishore and pacer Yash Dayal replaced Lockie Ferguson, Sai Sudharsan and Pradeep Sangwan in the team.

On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants made one change to the playing XI as Karan Sharma replaced Ravi Bishnoi in the team.

Batting first, Gujarat Titans were off to a very slow start as in the first 6 overs they were able to score only 35 runs. Also, they lost the wickets of Wriddhiman Saha, who was dismissed by Mohsin Khan, and Matthew Wade, who was dismissed by Avesh Khan.

Just after the strategic timeout GT captain Hardik Pandya was also cleaned up for 11 by LSG right-arm pacer Avesh Khan and after 10 overs GT were at 59/3.

Then, opener Shubman Gill and David Miller had 52 runs partnership off 41 balls before Jason Holder dismissed the latter for 26 on the last ball of the 16th over.

In the end, Rahul Tewatia and Shubman Gill remained not out and helped Gujarat Titans post 144/4 on the board. Gill scored 63 runs off 49 balls, including 7 fours and Tewatia smashed 22 runs off 16 balls, including 4 fours.

Chasing the target, Lucknow Super Giants lost three big wickets inside the powerplay overs. Wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock was dismissed by Yash Dayal for 11 in the 4th over, captain KL Rahul was dismissed for 8 by Mohammed Shami and Karan Sharma was cleaned up by Yash Dayal for 4 in the 6th over.

The fall of wickets didn’t stop there and the power-packed Lucknow Super Giants batting unit consisting of Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Marcus Stoinis, Ayush Badoni and Jason Holder, failed to deliver a good performance and they were bundled out for 82.
