LSG vs RCB: Important that I Am Able To Follow My Blueprint of Batting - Faf du Plessis
Faf du Plessis hit a brilliant 96 and helped Royal Challengers Bangalore register their 5th win of the season. After the game, he was pretty happy with the way he batted as said he was indeed happy that his blueprint for batting came good.
After hitting 88 in the first game of the tournament, Faf hit a rough patch but against Lucknow Super Giants he was back to scoring runs.
A Ton Is Around The Corner: Faf Du Plessis
Faf started slowly as wickets continued to fall from the other end. He reached to his 50 in 40 balls. But after that accelerated to push the scoring rate. He got out for 96 on the penultimate ball of the final over.
“I got a few 96, and a 97, so hopefully (a ton) is around the corner. We needed someone to stabilise the innings and then get going at the back end. Today, grateful that I could do it. Important that I am able to follow my blueprint of batting,” Faf said about his innings in the post-match presentation.
RCB bowlers did well to restrict LSG batters and win the game after batting first. This was their second win in a row defending a target and Faf seemed pleased by that.
“Before the last two games, it (death bowling) was a concern as we were getting hit in areas we shouldn’t have been. But in the last two games, we’ve got hit to where we’ve wanted to. Harshal has been exceptional, watch out for him, he’s going to be special for the rest of the season too,” he said about his team’s bowling effort.
RCB’s top order has failed for the most part in this season and Faf wants the team to focus there, “We need to just work on our strengths and we actually can get better in a few things. Need one guy to bat through consistently, but we haven’t had that frequently. DK has saved us quite a bit, hopefully, today is a stepping stone in that direction”, he added.
RCB courtesy of this win has now moved to 2nd place in the points table.
