Lucknow Supergiants vs Rajasthan Royals Head To Head Records, IPL 2022, Match 63, LSG vs RR. Lucknow Supergiants will play against Rajasthan Royals on 15th May 2022 at 7:30 pm in Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai, India. It will be the 63rd IPL 2022 match.

Luckow Supergiants has 16 points from 12 matches and a win will make them the second team to qualify for the play-offs. Rajasthan Royals have 14 points from 12 matches and they need to win their remaining matches to stay in the safe zone. RR beat LSG by 3 runs in their previous encounter this season.

IPL2022 is coming to the business end with each team trying to stay ahead of the others in the points table. Lucknow Supergiants & Rajasthan Royals are occupying the 2nd and 3rd places respectively. Lucknow Supergiants is looking good to qualify but will need to score as many points to finish inside the top-2 position. Rajasthan Royals has lost 3 of their last 4 matches and any more slip-ups might affect their qualification chances hugely.

Lucknow Supergiants were bundled out for just 82 runs in the last game against table-toppers GT. Openers KL Rahul and Quinton De Kock have their prolific run scorers this season with all-rounders Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya playing good cameos in the middle overs consistently. All-rounders Jason Holder and Marcus Stoinis have taken up the finishing role for the team.

Lucknow Supergiants have a strong pace attack with the four frontline pacers Avesh Khan, Jason Holder, Mohsin Khan, and Dushmantha Chameera bowling in tandem. Mohsin Khan has been their best bowler this season with Avesh Khan providing crucial breakthroughs. Krishnappa Gowtham might find a place in playing XI and bowl in tandem with Krunal Pandya in middle overs.

Ravi Bishnoi is the leading spinner for Lucknow Supergiants but he was benched in the last game. UP’s Ranji skipper Karan Sharma made his debut for LSG in the last game against GT. He batted at the number 4 spot and could only manage 4 runs against his name before getting out to Yash Dayal. Karan Sharma is expected to retain his place in the eleven at least for this game, but if Lucknow Supergiants would want to replace him Manish Pandey and Manan Vohra are other options.

RR scored 160/6 in their 20 overs with Ravichandran Ashwin (50 runs) and Devdutt Padikkal (48 runs) in the middle order last game. Opener Jos Buttler who is the Orange Cap holder for being the highest run-scorer has been silent in the last 2-3 matches and will be eyeing a big score in this match. Skipper Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag, and Rassie van der Dussen must give lower-order firepower with Shimron Hetmyer not available currently.

RR pacers Prasidh Krishna, Trent Boult, and Kuldeep Sen have been brilliant as a unit in the power play overs especially but have leaked a lot of runs in the death overs. Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal have been their trump card in middle overs with Yuzvendra Chahal being the tournament`s leading wicket-taker with 24 scalps so far.

Rajasthan Royals missed the services of Shimron Hetmyer dearly in the last game against Delhi Capitals. Shimron Hetmyer who has been a finisher for RR this season has flown back to Jamaica for the birth of his first child. He is yet to return and most probably will miss this game.

Rassie van der Dussen was incorporated into the eleven for Shimron Hetmyer in the last game. He remained unbeaten on 12 off 10 deliveries and is expected to retain his place. If RR goes for changes, they can drop Rassie van der Dussen for James Neesham and bring Karun Nair in for Kuldeep Sen.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) had defeated the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 3 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in their previous encounter.  Shimron Hetmyer’s impeccable 59*(36) guided Rajasthan Royals to a competitive total of 165-6 before Yuzvendra Chahal shined with a four-wicket haul as RR successfully defended the target in the last over.

Excellent bowling by Yuzvendra Chahal (4/41) following a brilliant late onslaught by Shimron Hetmyer (59 not out off 36 balls) and a tactical switch by Ravichandran Ashwin, who became the first player in IPL history to get ‘retired out’, helped Rajasthan Royals beat Lucknow Super Giants by 3 runs.

Though Quinton de Kock (39) held one end up for some time and Marcus Stoinis (38 not out off 17) landed some lusty blows in the last couple of overs, they could not drag Lucknow across the victory line.

It was a superb final over from RR pacer Kuldeep Sen as he defended the 15 runs needed to win for LSG in the last 6 balls. It was his IPL debut, but Kuldeep Sen showed great calmness as he managed to defend 165 against Lucknow Super Giants despite the late scare from Marcus Stoinis

Brief Scores: Rajasthan Royals 165-6 (Shimron Hetmyer 59*, Devdutt Padikkal 29; Krishnappa Gowtham 2-30) beat Lucknow Super Giants 162-8 (Quinton de Kock 39, Marcus  Stoinis 38*; Yuzvendra Chahal 4-41) by 3 runs.
