Former Indian player Ajay Jadeja pointed out that Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are lacking strength in their bowling attack. MI and CSK will lock horns in the high-octane clash of IPL 2022 on Thursday in Navi Mumbai.

Both the teams share nine out of 14 IPL titles between them but they are on the opposite end of the points table in IPL 2022.

MI recorded six straight losses and remains the only team yet to find a win in IPL 2022 while CSK are placed in the ninth position with just a solitary win against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in six matches.

The problem is that both Mumbai and Chennai don’t have good top-order bowlers: Ajay Jadeja

Jadeja said MI and CSK didn’t make the most use of the IPL 2022 auction and are missing quality bowlers in their ranks. The former Indian player doesn’t expect CSK to make many changes with their team in the remaining fixtures.

“The problem is that both Mumbai and Chennai don’t have good top-order bowlers. That’s why they are at the bottom. CSK are not known for making any changes. An out-and-out fast bowler could have helped, but it’s late now,” Jadeja said on Cricbuzz.

“These franchises haven’t used the trading window a lot, but this year, we might see some activity. A lot of sides have players who are on the bench. But I don’t see CSK making any drastic changes. They are just beginning to look at some sort of rhythm.

“Robin Uthappa has repaid the faith, Ambati Rayudu batted well in the last game. Shivam Dube has done well. What has not worked for CSK is Ravindra Jadeja becoming captain and pushing himself down the order. Apart from batting order change, I don’t see any wholesale changes,” he added.

CSK missing Deepak Chahar in IPL 2022

CSK suffered a heavy blow after pace bowler Deepak Chahar was ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury while Mumbai bought England speedster Jofra Archer in the auction despite knowing the player’s unavailability because of injuries.
